Overview

This article explains how to create a custom Salesforce Report Type that combines Crossbeam Ecosystem Overlaps with your Account and Partner Account objects. Once configured, this report type lets you and your team view overlap data alongside account fields and Partner Account ownership in a single report.

Requirements

Step 1: Create the Custom Report Type

Set Up the Report Type

  • Navigate to Setup in Salesforce

  • In the Quick Find box, type Report Types and select Report Types from the results

  • Click New Custom Report Type

  • In the Primary Object field, select Crossbeam Ecosystem Overlaps

  • Enter a Report Type Label. Recommended: Crossbeam Ecosystem Overlaps with Account and Partner Account

  • Enter a Description. For example: Report on Crossbeam overlaps with your Account fields and Partner Account fields in a single view

  • Set Store in Category to Other Reports, or whichever category your team uses for Crossbeam reports

  • Set Deployment Status to Deployed

  • Click Next

Select the Fields to Include

  • On the Edit Layout page, select the fields to make available when building reports with this type.

  • Recommended fields by object:

    • Crossbeam Ecosystem Overlaps: Partner Name, Standard Populations, Partner Standard Populations, Account, Opportunity

    • Accounts: Account Owner, Account Name, Industry, Annual Revenue

    • Partner Account: Account Owner (Partner Manager/CAM), Account Name, Type, and any custom tier or priority fields your team uses

  • Click Save.

Your custom Report Type is now available.

Step 2: Build a Report Using the New Report Type

  • Navigate to Reports in Salesforce and click New Report

  • Search for your new Report Type label and select it

  • Click Start Report

  • In the Filters tab, set the date filter to All Time and the overlap filter to All Crossbeam Ecosystem Overlaps

  • In the Outline tab, add the columns most relevant to your use case

Recommended starting columns:

  • Account Name (your account)

  • Partner Name (from the overlap record)

  • Partner Account: Account Owner (the Partner Manager or CAM who owns the relationship)

  • Partner Account: Type (for example, Reseller, ISV, Strategic Partner)

  • Standard Populations

  • Partner Standard Populations

  • Account Owner (your AE or account owner)

  • Apply filters as needed.

    • For example, filter by Partner Account: Type to scope to a specific partner segment, or group rows by Partner Account: Account Owner so each Partner Manager sees only their own accounts

  • Click Save & Run
