Salesforce Authorization Issues with Crossbeam

Salesforce recently introduced stricter security measures for Connected Apps. As part of this update, Salesforce may block “uninstalled” connected apps—apps that were authorized by a user but never formally installed in the Salesforce org.

This error could appear when users connect Salesforce Custom Object Integration or Salesforce as a Data Source in Crossbeam. The following troubleshooting steps are the same; the only differences are the name of the connected app (“Crossbeam” instead of “Crossbeam Salesforce Overlaps Push”) and the installation link.

This change can cause authorization issues when setting up the Salesforce Custom Object Integration or Salesforce as a Data Source in Crossbeam. Users may see errors when trying to connect if the connected app is blocked.

How to Resolve Authorization Issues

If you’re unable to authorize or reauthorize your Salesforce connection in Crossbeam, follow one of the options below.

Option A: Install via Connected Apps OAuth Usage

  • In Salesforce, go to SetupConnected Apps OAuth Usage

  • Find the connected app named Crossbeam Salesforce Overlaps Push (or Crossbeam for Salesforce Data Source)

  • Click Install

  • Optional: Adjust security and access policies so that only users with the Crossbeam Setup User permission set have access

  • Return to Crossbeam and retry the Salesforce connection.

Option B: Install via Direct URL

If the app isn’t listed in Connected Apps OAuth Usage, you can install it directly using the following URL (replace {sfdc-domain} with your Salesforce domain):

Crossbeam Salesforce Overlaps Push

https://{sfdc-domain}.my.salesforce.com/identity/app/AppInstallApprovalPage.apexp?app_id=0Ci1U000000L2SJ&app_org_id=00D1U000001BPt6

Crossbeam (for Salesforce Data Source)

https://{sfdc-domain}.my.salesforce.com/identity/app/AppInstallApprovalPage.apexp?app_id=0Ci1U000000bmwH&app_org_id=00D1U000001BPt6

After installation, return to Crossbeam and retry the Salesforce connection.

Option C: Temporarily Approve Uninstalled Connected Apps

If the app is still not visible after trying Option A or B, you can temporarily allow the connection by:

  • Adding the Approve Uninstalled Connected Apps scope to your Salesforce Integration/Service user

  • Retry the connection in Crossbeam

  • Once the connection is successful, you’ll now see Crossbeam listed in Connected Apps OAuth Usage (see Option A)

  • Next:

    • Install the app

    • Remove the Approve Uninstalled Connected Apps scope from the Integration user to maintain strict security
