Overview
Lookalike Prospects is an automatically generated Population of prospect accounts created when you sign up for Crossbeam. Using your company's domain and data that is sourced and maintained by Crossbeam, Crossbeam identifies accounts that resemble your ICP and adds them to your workspace.
This allows you to start exploring account mapping immediately—before connecting a CRM or inviting partners.
To learn more about the onboarding experience for new Crossbeam accounts, see this Onboarding Guide Article.
How It Works
When you create a new Crossbeam account, Crossbeam automatically:
Verifies your company domain
Identifies similar accounts using customer data sourced and maintained by Crossbeam
Creates a Lookalike Prospects Population
Maps those accounts against an Open Data Partner (ODP)
Your first view in Crossbeam is an overlap report showing which of your lookalike prospects are customers of the selected Open Data Partner.
No setup is required.
If Crossbeam cannot confidently generate a tailored list, the Population may appear as Sample Prospects. Both Populations function the same way.
Using Your Lookalike Prospects
Your Lookalike Prospects Population behaves like any other custom Population in Crossbeam. You can:
View it in Populations
Filter accounts in Lists
Run overlap reports with partners
Edit or delete the Population
The Population remains available after onboarding is complete.
Lookalike Prospects is a one-time snapshot and does not automatically refresh.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are Open Data Partners?
Open Data Partners (ODPs) are curated technology vendors whose customer data is sourced and maintained by Crossbeam. ODPs let you identify account overlaps instantly—no partner invitation, connection, or data-sharing agreement required.
Does the Population update automatically?
No. Lookalike Prospects is generated once during signup and does not sync or refresh.
Can I see overlaps immediately?
Yes. Crossbeam automatically maps the Population against an Open Data Partner and displays the results as your first list.
Why do I see Sample Prospects instead?
Sample Prospects is generated when Crossbeam cannot confidently create a tailored lookalike list. It functions the same way as Lookalike Prospects.
Can I delete the Population?
Yes. Navigate to Populations and delete it like any custom Population.
