This guide will help you automate the copying of data from the Crossbeam Overlaps custom object and onto the account and opportunity objects. It includes instructions for adding new fields and building new flows in your Salesforce instance. It serves as an illustrative example for your Salesforce Admin or RevOps team.

❗️Important

This is available on our Supernode Tier and requires the "Crossbeam Overlaps" custom object in Salesforce. Contact Crossbeam here if you'd like to upgrade your account.

Overview

Most of the modules in Clari are built around the opportunity object. In order to display Crossbeam data in the Opportunity Grid or Details Panel in Clari Web, the underlying fields must be available on the opportunity object in Salesforce.

Crossbeam Custom Object

By default, Crossbeam data is pushed into a custom object called Crossbeam Overlaps, and each partner match is recorded as a unique Crossbeam Overlap record.

The example below illustrates a match on account PlanView with 3 partners: Bozala, Surfzer, and Yaarde. Each partner has the account as a customer. 3 unique records were created in the Crossbeam Overlaps object, respectively.

Suggested Automation

The suggested Salesforce flow will copy data from the Crossbeam Overlaps custom object and print them on the Account and Opportunity object.

The example below illustrates the partner customer matches for PlanView being displayed in a single new field on the Account object.

Making the Crossbeam fields available on standard objects (Account, Opportunity, etc.) will allow 3rd party applications like Clari to better ingest the data.

Configuration

Prerequisites

This guide assumes you have already installed Crossbeam's Salesforce App and are pushing Crossbeam overlap data into your Salesforce instance.

Salesforce Steps

Step 1: Account Object Flow

Step 2: Opportunity Object Flow

Clari Steps

With the Crossbeam data now available on the Account and Opportunity objects, add the desired fields in Clari's Field Configuration Module. We recommend adding "Partners (Customer)" and "Partners (Opportunity)" as columns on your Opportunity Grid.

FAQs

When will the direct Clari integration be ready?

Keep an eye on our Integration Marketplace for the latest. We expect the integration to be ready for general access in Q4 of 2023.

How long does it take to deploy these custom Salesforce flows?

Every Salesforce environment is different, and each Salesforce Administrator has their own deployment and testing protocols. A general estimate is that an experienced Salesforce Administrator should be able to deploy the custom flows in 2–3 hours.

Which fields do you recommend adding to the Clari Opportunity Grid Layout?

We recommend adding Partners (Customer) and Partners (Opportunity) as columns to your Opportunity Grid. This will give your GTM team more context and helpful insights from your Ecosystem during pipeline planning and sales review meetings:

  • Partners (Customer) provides insight into your prospect's tech stack.

  • Partners (Customer) lets your team know which partners can offer assistance or influence.

  • Partners (Opportunity) provides insight into the tech your prospect may be shopping for.

  • Partners (Opportunity) lets your team know which partners you can co-sell or otherwise coordinate with.

We have a lot of partners on Crossbeam. What if I don't want all partners to appear in Salesforce and Clari, only key strategic partners?

Head over to your Crossbeam Integrations page to access "Salesforce App Settings." In the settings modal, you'll be able to customize which specific partners and/or which specific partner populations are pushed into your Salesforce instance.
